Nice! Can't wait till the renovations are complete! Tiger Stadium will KICK BUTT!!! ....even MORE than what it already does now!
Interesting that they decided to wait this to to start construction - the season's been over how long now? I suppose there is enough slack between the completion date and the first game, but if the seats are not ready again like they were the last time, it will be another case of poor planning and lost opportunity for revenue. I hope Skip uses this opportunity too the fullest, and it sounds like he will based on what he has stated recently...
What do you mean? The East Upper Deck seats were finished before the season started. The reason I read for the delay was to get the engineering ready and for the contractor to get there stuff together. Remember, this project wasn't announced until late summer and wasn't approved by the BOS until early Fall semester.
Check out the latest image of the WUD. It looks like they reversed the press box from the South side to the North side of the new upper deck.
That is why they are making the West a mirror image of the East; so when they get ready to expand again, the West and East will connect around the South endzone. From my understanding, they will put up the supports for the new upper deck this offseason and pull the old West Upper off and put the new one in next offseason.
Don't get so defensive - you sound like a TAFer, several of whom cannot take any LSU criticism for some reason. I'm not knocking TAF or LSU - go back and read what my hopes/expectations stated. However, you are dead wrong. I clearly remember going to games and looking at an incomplete East upper deck. The may have been finished before the FOLLOWING season started. Inm fact, there were jokes about the cardboard construction people jumping over the sides, and I had Condon give a moment of silence for said cutouts after one of the horrible games. If the project was submitted in the summer, why so long in getting approval? Sounds like theyt didn't allow enough time for the bidding and construction processes, which do not occur overnight. Do they plan to have it done before kickoff?
