well, she has gone to a better place, thats good news. unless of course granny was evil... (or didnt accept jesus as her personal savior, which i believe will also send you to the eternal burning) thats true. i will. i love books.
All the Christian guilt makes us even. There are many people who play with rattlers, Christian science and don't take meds. They do whatever they like. Don't believe, don't believe in anything, be a nihelist, it doesn't matter. I can't explain to you how I feel about God. I'm not some religious teacher either. My family isn't religious but it's something that over the last 10 years I've been drawn to.....not because things are bad but because they are good in my life. Just because one believes and has faith it doesn't make them less rational.....on the whole it makes them more rational. It gives meaning to the whole problem that is life. Not that when a hurricane hits I feel comfort in knowing that God exists. Many things in life have to be taken on faith.....God is just one of those things. But it's the one that brings the most peace for millions. You want to know when I feel the power of God the most? When I feel that everything is all true is when we as a people are struggling with life's questions, abortion, end of life, death penalty, I think about things and think God has already laid out what is right for us. It's not obvious, it'll never be until the end. But when the Schiavo case was big news.....right in the middle of that there was a report of a woman who was in a end of life state and woke. It made small news but for me it made big news. She was "dead" for something like 15 years and woke and spoke. To me, that is God giving meaning to the Schiavo case. God is telling us what to do....not making it obvious but saying through works what to do. We either do that or we don't as a people. But the answers are already out there. In terms of right and wrong, the questions already have answers.........we either choose to follow or not. But I respect your view and I understand it.
well, it matters from the perspective of christianity doesnt it? yunno, because i will burn forever. damnit. you are making me want to bring out the dictionary. faith is, by its nature, the opposite of rationality. faith is the enemy of reason.
I must admit I was somewhat confused by your statements. They came off as sarcastic, but I thought you were a man of faith... no?
one of the keys to how awesome god is it that he is described by believers in such a way as to be logically impossible. sometimes when this is pointed out, they will claim they were joking, but we can all see they were not. i dont respect yours. i cant anymore than i could respect your opinion if you said up was down and black was white. your opinion is so absurd that only a child should be excused for believing it. and even then only if the kid was stupid.
stumbled on to this article today and it reminded me of the creationism issue. it looks like scientists are testing some of einstein's theories about gravity. scientists are not really sure what is the deal with gravity. yunno, because gravity is just a theory. for all we know it isnt even true. it is possible gravity doesnt really happen and an intelligent designer is the force we perceive as gravity. thats whay they call it a theory, scientists are admitting gravity might not even exist. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/10/051007100202.htm they need to teach that in schools, just to be fair. they need to teach students that gravity is a theory, and that maybe the real culprit of this force holding us down is a wizard. you have to expose children to everything.
