I was searching for the "throw the christians to the lions" comments and came across this scary editorial.

    http://christiandestiny.org/publications/bulletin/2004-10.shtml

On the other hand, there is only one paragraph that doesn't scare the everliving daylights out of me.

When you become secularistic in your viewpoint and say, “There is no God,” you will then become relativistic in your belief system and say, “There is no truth.” Eventually, you will become so materialistic and so self-centered, that all there is is the pursuit of “my stuff.” We will become a culture that is more interested in what is going to benefit us financially, than what is going to be an expression of the character, quality and nature of life itself.

i firmly believe it was the spaghetti monster.

as a whole this thread is a great indicator of just how widespread craziness is. and curiously enough, red may be the only one who really understands what he is talking about.

Over 75% of people believe in some sort of God. If all 75% is crazy, then you must feel honored to be so smart. I bet you always feel like you're the smartest person in the room huh? But mostly you're the only person in the room.

there were time when everyone thought the world was flat.

not believing in heaven is no picnic, bub. i am regularly tormented by the anticipation of the death of people i like. they are not going to fantasy world where i can see em again. it isnt easy to take. i wish there was a magic town.

not always, i have some friends who are pretty smart. just kidding i am smarter than them.

Absolute Nonsense. It meets not one criteria of a religion. Not one.

There is no evidence that evolution is false, only supposition. There is a preponderance of evidence that it is true.

When Genesis was written, we were at a time in our history when many people wanted desperately to understand the world, even though they were uneducated and childlike. Thus many creation mythologies were formed through oral traditions to explain the great mysteries in simple terms for a simple people. We are now a sophisticated people. Perhaps God has now provided the understanding of evolution to explain these great mysteries to a more enlightened audience.

Evolution does not require that God be explained away. You confuse me with martin, I have never denied the existence of God. I simply believe it is impossible for us to know if God exists or what he may expect from us.

Evolution only requires that creation myths (Hebrew or otherwise) be accepted as matters of faith, not of science.

Salty, I have no problems at all with your faith in God. Only with your contention that such faith constitutes science. One cannot prove faith through science, nor can one prove science through faith.
