I agree, but I think they are going to do it by compromising with Bush on a new strategy rather than being obstructionists. The Baker committee report on Iraq has also been held up until after the election. It is a biparitisan committee that has studied the war and is believed to be strongly recommending specific changes. The Dems will support something that they are a part of and can help form . . . like the 9/11 commmittee recommendations that have not been implemented. The Baker committee may be suggesting some radical changes. Baker Committee May Recommend a Federal Iraq
I have refuted this notion at length in several threads already. I know you don't like Clinton and he may not be who you'd want your sister to marry, but he was not a bad president. In fact he was a very good one. All the evidence supports it. His economy skyrocketed, our international reputation was very high, he won his wars against Yugoslavia over the Bosnia and Kosovo disputes, government spending was down, we had budget surpluses, the deficit was being paid down, a mideast deal was reached, a Korea deal was reached, Osama was bombed twice. the first WTC terrorists were caught and prosecuted and the Millenium Bombing plot was foiled before happening. And he could maybe get your sister elected president, too. He was a Rhodes scholar, a really smart guy. He's Sir William of Smooth. Even the republican women voted for him in '92 and '96. He can get a hummer from a college girl in the Oval Office, admit it on national TV, and still keep his wife. Son of a bitch will probably end up back in the White House as First Gentleman with President Hillary. All the goodies and none of the pressure. Life is slick.
I could could probably give plenty of examples to refute that and then give other reasons why the Democrats are weak on defense. Hell, John Kerry has made negative comments about the military for years. This is a no brainer. Trust me, this would never end. My origional point in this thread was about none of this, it was about Democrats who joke about illegal imigration and terrorism. I don't have a sister! Not a bad president? Depends on a persons perspective. I noticed you left off the recession his last 2 years? Waco, an American tragedy where 80 children were killed. Yea, we all heard your view before. The Korean deal was that we gave them nuclear technology for power but it could also be used for military purposes. Thanks a lot. I repeat, I don't have a sister! I don't think it was a hummer and I don't know what this says about his wife or Repubican women, I won't go there second time around, read my lips, a dog catcher would've beat Bush 41:lol:  Not going to happen, Hillary can't and won't get Libertarians and other moderates votes. She certainly won't get any Republicans votes, even if Bush blew up the levees and the Wtc. Here is my key point: Janet Reno said the buck stops here after Waco. My point is that the buck never reached Bill Clinton for 13 years and you are proof of that in your posts. It was always somebodys fault but never his, Reno, FBI, CIA, etc. Clinton gets all the credit and none of the blame for the last 13 years in your and some others eyes. I say 13 years because it is relavent today since we were attacked by OBL during the Clinton years and we are still at war with him today. Bill Clinton is the first American president to get all the credit and none of the blame for anything. But then again Democrats are use to having it both ways. For the war then against it, scandals for example William Jefferson, Michael Studds vs Lott, Foley, etc. Democrats don't resign in scandal they stay in office. Notice there is also no election scandal since the democrats won! The good news is that its the democrats time to put up or shut up and I'm willing to bet that they will make some wrong choices and thats what I'm counting my blessings on. Lets face it, moderate democrats won't be in charge in high positions in Congress and the senate, flaming leftists will be in charge. Would you be scared to date Howard Deans daughter? If he has one? OMG, thats a loaded question:rofl:
Go ahead. I'd really like to see it. Didn't happen. The recession began in March 2001, Bush took office the previous January. The stock market crashed in 2002. Makes you want to go blow up a federal building, doesn't it. Makes you wonder why, doesn't it? And Clinton was only president for 8 years. The first WTC bombers were not Al Qaida, it was an Egyptian Islamic Jihad group, they were caught quickly and they are all in prison now for life. The millenium bombing was foiled entirely. Clinton tried to kill bin Ladin twice in massive cruise missile strikes on Al Qaida bases after the embassy bombings. Bush did not retaliate after the USS Cole bombing. The 9/11 criminals acted on Bush's watch and they still run free. Are you serious? The new democrats line up to the right of Kennedy. It ain't Teddy's party anymore, he doesn't call the shots. Some of the senior dems are very liberal, but they can't operate without the moderate democrats who got elected as moderates. The democrats are back in Congressional power because they got the moderate vote. Nope, only Dick Cheney's daughter.
I said the same thing, cause it has alot of truth to it.. sometimes it's easier to bulldoze and then rebuild rather then work with what's left.... But then against I also thought new orleans and all gulf coast parishes should have a double levee protection system... Got other ideas that make sense.. that's probally why, I am not in poilitics...
You asked for it:lol: http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1501&status=article&id=244423511626964 How does that old saying goes, the economy is slow to react to reflect changes made by an administration. Nope, you know me better than that, I respect life too much although at times I've wondered if that plane should've hit an empty capital building to wake up some of those bureaucrats and politicians that still don't get it or has already forgotten. Never said anything about the first WTC? Millenium bombing foiled was a fluke, saw the interview of the agent although I have no idea why we are still discussing this. Disagree, you know better than this. Politicians run to get elected after they get to DC they forget all of that stuff and do whatever they want to do. Nancy Polosi, Chuck Schumer, Charles Rangell will all see that the democrats fall in line, its called power and those three people will have plenty of it. The votes don't count, once they are in the game is over thats why they can change parties and opinions in midstream. Perfect example, Ken Salazar who ran and said there would be an up or down vote on Supreme Court nominees or something like that, might've been something else and when he got to capitol hill he changed his tune. How about Bush's daughter or daughters? I'm starting to feel guilty if you are working?:yelwink2:
that isnt hard to do when your wife is a demagogue addicted to power and desparately needs to be connected to you to further her own aspirations. i doubt hillary even bothers to investigate sir william's indiscretions. their marriage is about their careers. they are probably just friends with benefits.
