Now your going with the carpet bagger thing? Oh cmon, I thought we were beyond that. I'm not accusing anyone, I'm just asking questions. You go and blow it all out of proportion and start getting defensive. By the way, I've lived here for 9 years, I consider this to be part of my back yard.

hook line and sinker. but thats not the point. What I was asking was serious. This was not meant to bash. This was a question. But, it was taken the wrong way.

We are better than what you are trying to insinuate. We are proud, as fans, that our team has had a very good record this off season. You, on the other hand, are trying to compare us to the likes of Tenn, USC, and the others. Why can't you accept the fact that our boys are not a bunch of thugs and disciplinary problems. The Nick Child statement takes the cake, nothing but unsubstantiated rumors. The examples of non discipline from some of the other universities are very well documented. This incident and the idiot with the steroids are in no way comparable to the total collapse of good judgement shown by some of the other programs. Period. I call a spade a spade, and what Pittman did is not that big of a deal. If it had been some other school's player, I would say the exact same thing.

I understand where your coming from saying that what the LSU players have or havent done over the off season is much lighter then what has gone on else where. I said that in my initial post. If you read you'll see that. But, to say he did nothing wrong is bull****. I understand this guy may or may not have groped this woman. We dont even know how the word grope is being defined here. I was raised to not feel it necessary to have a fist fight over everything. If this was such a major deal what the groper was doing, shouldnt they have gone to the cops? Shouldnt someone in college have a little better judgement? Is this lighter then many problems at other schools? sure...but is this something to take lightly? no...some just think it is b/c it's LSU. That is a fact.

whats wrong with that? would you rather get in a bar fight and possibly get yourself in a lot of trouble or go to the cops and have them solve it? Ya thats smart, knowing I have scholarship, potential NFL career, a big season coming up, I'm going to get in a bar fight. That is just bad thinking. I understand he's defending the lady. But, fighting doesnt solve everything. It just makes things worse. But, thats how I was raised. Thats where I and many people here differ.

You would just stand and watch and allow it happen while you call the cops and request help.

I'm not going to have manhood questioned on something like this. I'm just a fighter. I wasnt raised that way. You can spin that however you want. I wasnt there, I dont know the situation. But, bottom line is, you have to use better judgement. This is a big deal. Lets be real, the guy gropes this girl. You are a huge guy like Pittman, you could very easily walk over there and push the guy aside with ease. You could very easily get there girl out of there. There is no reason that it has to resort to violence. You get the guy off the girl. This is assuming it was just a grope and go type thing. Say he did it for a minute then stopped. Or, was he going at it when Pittman initiated contact. That is a different animal also. I still feel that beating the living day lights out of a guy is unnecessary. Let the authorities handle it. Now, you've jeopardized your season with something like this. If nothing else, your name is out there with this. Here it's not going to matter b/c people will slide it under the rug or find a way to defend it b/c its the hometown team.

I don't know the ages of the posters that are saying that kicking someone while they are down but that is a criminal act that is never condoned nor should it be. Seems to be a common occurance with the younger generation now that I didn't see growing up in the 60's & 70's. Recently 2 men in their early 20's from Denham Springs were charged with murder after kicking a guy in the head at a local sports bar. He died a couple of days later from his injuries. I think Pittman is lucky he didn't really do permanant damage. Who would want to live with that?
