Well...no shocker, but Chase was arrested for 2nd deg. battery

Personally, I'm thoroughly disgusted with Chase Pittman regardless of the details - anything short of this guy pointing a scud missle at Chase's crotch is not grounds for beating someone into the pavement - in my opinion...

 

I know the guy who got the crap beat out of him, but I haven't talked to him or anyone that was there yet (I'm out of state at the moment). I do know that the guy is like 5'9 160 or so and far from built like a fighter. I don't care if the whole story is true and he was doing it for a girl- You don't beat the crap out of someone 100 pounds less than you. And you don't kick anyone in the face when they're on the ground. And you don't say they deserved it after.

And yes, the only reason its on the news is because its a football player, but I worked at a Tigerland bar, and anyone who kicks someone in the head and knocks them out and sends them to the hospital does go to jail, not just athletes.

 

Chase did the wrong thing for the right reasons, in his mind. I also remember reading, if I'm not mistaken, that Les Miles did essentially the exact same thing when he was in school...so I wouldn't think he'll really come down hard on him. I posted the article here a while back, I'll try to dig it up.

 

If that theory is the truth, then honestly, I would probably think less of Chase as a person and quite frankly, would expect that a suspension, certainly greater than just one game, be enforced. Don't know if I would dismiss him completely, but that option would certainly be relayed to Chase as a possibility and then, depending on how he handles, what I'm sure will be a law suit, then that would determine if and when I allow him back.

If Chase acted without seeing this alleged "harrasment" on this girl first-hand, and simply acted on the word of others is true, then I believe an indefinate suspension be enforced. Possibly till the length of time it takes for any trial to take place.

As it stands now, I feel that at minimum, a couple games suspension is warranted.

 

Yea, he essentially did the same thing, if Chase and the girl's story is true. Of course it appears Chase never saw it take place, and Miles certainly didn't kick him while he was down (not that Chase did either).

everyone needs a good ass kicking every now and then. however, things back then were much different. there was no internet nor media outlets lurking for every bit of drama.

hard to tell someone with a bit of alcohol and testosterone not to defend a girl if she needed help.

if he kicked the dude while unconscious regardless the situation, as i stated 10 pages back, then that is over the line.

talked to some other friends, (disclamer: no one who was actually there answered the phone, but the ones that did have talked to guys that were there; the guy in the fight is not a close enough friend that I would call just to ask about him getting his ass beat), basically:

Chase hears that some guy was messing with some girl (who's name chase didn't know, according to police report), tries to find him (who's name, again, chase didn't know), doesn't. Sees my wasted friend outside a little later, whom he has about 8 inches and 100 or so pounds advantage over, thinks hes the guy from earlier, punches him, and kicks him in the face when he is on his knees on the ground. Not sure what, if anything, was said between the two before this.

Also, the news article is not correct about my friends age.
