    Think you have it backwards, there was an article a while back and pretty sure it said the diabetes caused a gain in wt. Good piece, had an interview with TM7 talking about it.

    his body produces insulin it just doesn't know how to process it, type 1 the body doesn't produce insulin and you have to take shots.

    That was in Paul's book. You forget Middleton was Army and the tradition of West Point was much more important then.

    Deitzel had been an assistant at Army, so he was caught up in Army tradition, too.

    It depends on the individual. My wife is Type 2, and has never taken shots. She controls it with diet and occasionally meds in pill form.
