Are you really that dumb? Do you think, over an 11 game season, that someone who is "way over his head" wouldn't get exposed in the SEC? Do you honestly think that the "sheer talent" of a bunch of teenagers can win out over the equal talent of SEC teams without some coaching to help them along? Do you really think that 10 of 11 wins equal all luck?

Know what I think? I think your expertise in crunching BCS numbers indicates that you are the "Rain Man". Gotta watch Judge Wapner...Gotta watch Judge Wapner..

The concensus is that it was a pathetic post. But I'm not surprised that you agree with it.

Ain't it great! What the hell is wrong with good luck? Are you advocating some bad luck for the Tigers?

Proof? Examples? Or just the same broken record . . .

If it doesn't, will you STFU? What would it take for Miles to please you? You sound like a Bammer after Bear. No one will ever be good ebough for you.

I think it is very difficult to pin down exactly which coach is "at fault" with the conservative play calling, as there can be so many intervening factors.

Looking at the way the offense has been over the past several years, it seems that the offense, even for the championship team of 2003, never quite jumps out of the gate in the first quarter and consistently have a dominating offensive performance. They can be. however, explosive any time during the game prob. because of talent. Is that a signature of Jimbo's offense? Of course, the head coach can often overrule the play calls, and that's what made it tough to figure out who made the "good" (if successful) or "bad" calls.

On the other hand, the calls are very much dependant on, and limited by the players' performance, the week before and during the game. If the players are not playing at their highest level, then you can't quite afford to play aggressive as it can easily make things much worse, e.g. with turnovers. To me, if offense doesn't perform, the blame falls on the entire TEAM, PLAYERS and COACHES included. The team is loaded with talent; but if the talent doesn't execute in unison as a team, it cripples the offensive game plan and makes the entire offensive efforts look bad. One key ingredient to success in the past seems to be player consistency. THe ones that come to mind are the Rohan and Reed combination, topped off with the stellar running by Toefield and Dominic Davis. The strong 2003 team offensive line and the steady performance of Clayton, Henderson and Mauck. I don't get the feel that we have this yet in this team. Also, there is always the factor that the other team's defense may be performing at a very high level (more than their usual self) that makes the offense look bad. Arkansas' defense seemed pretty stiff yesterday, and they played their hearts out. That defensive effort reminds me of Ole Miss defensive in that nail biter game in 2003.

So, I think it's too soon for some to single out Miles (it could be Jimbo's problem, for all we know). Time will tell.

LSU was lucky to be 10-1 this time in 2003. USC is lucky to be undefeated right now. Most teams don't blow everyone out - that's life. Take a look up from that BCS stat page & watch a game.

I really just don't understand this argument at all. Which talent? The receivers who can't catch? The QB that underthrows his receivers? The runningback that's injured?

:hihi: USC is luckiest unbeaten team in college football history. that fumble against ND bounces any other direction, and them poor Trojans would have the same record as LSU...that's unacceptable. they should fire Pete Carrol. His team is winning on sheer talent in spite of coaching. I can't beleive their gonna bring him back for another season.Good thing Fresno's QB choked with the game on the line, that could be 2 losses for them.:hihi:

Are some of you really that mentally challenged? I seem to recall a Saban coached team losing to Arkansas the year after winning the SEC. I seem to recall a Saban team barely beating Ole Miss the last two years. I could go on about the "almighty Saban teams", but it's almost like pissing in the wind with some of you. Seriously, the bitching you guys do on this board has zero impact on who our coach will be for years to come, so why don't you just sit back and enjoy our success. In other words, put a cork in it.

I think people are just perplexed by some people's decision to complain and moan, rather than enjoy a stellar ride this year. MOST people think fans are fans as a hobby, which is traditionally something done for recreation. Not to shave years off your life due to constant frustration, no matter the outcome.
