I doubt it, this defense, hell the whole team is gonna come out next week with something to prove. We're finally playing a team that isn't in the top 25, and hopefully we'll be able to get the kinks out.

Meanwhile, stop whining and calling for Miles' firing, Saban didn't win a national championship his first year at LSU.

Saban also didn't have the talent (at least talent that was ready) his first year, that this team does.

You want what I think well here it is....
Bo, although having a good night in the first half did try to play prevent a little much in the second half......THESE GUYS ARE D1 COLLEGE PLAYERS, THEY SHOULD STOP TENN PASSING 1 OF EVERY 2 PLAYS. They didnt. The plan looked to me as they were trying to WIN the first game for MILES. AT ALL COST. That included sitting on the ball. You forget we lost Alley, or bruiser. With him we win. We are now playing bruiser football with Addai and Carey, vrazy yes, but still ok. We do have the best O-Line dont we. Well they looked like ****. With an O-LINE we win hands down, no matter what. Our defensive ends were suppose to AWESOME, well they werent. Oliver was hurt half the game, Pittman looked like ****. Also our DT's looked bad as well. Linebackers??? where were they, o I did see Luke Sanders make a tackle. Db's, horrible, thats coaching?????Yea I guess the coach goes out and plays the downs. NOPE you guessed it, the db's go out themselves and play, imagine that. Now lets look on offense. Well we looked good in the first half, well because we of the flea flicker, which looked like ****. We ran it somewhat decent. All in all, it came down to Tenn dropping passes in the first half, which they didnt in the 2nd half, except the full back.
So take this and analyse it and break it down it down how you shall. PEACE

The team came out with something to prove tonight and jumped out to a big lead, then when a little coaching was required Phat Phil ate Miles' lunch. The game plan on both sides of the ball sucked plain and simple. The adjustments made during the game sucked plain and simple. The coaching decisions made during the game sucked plain and simple. This extermely talented team is handcuffed with a coaching staff that up to this point looks totally lost and in way over its head. Once again LSU had the "brook trout" look but this time it was the coaching staff more so than the players.

im not going to debate about the "loser football" because, well, you may be right. time will tell, but:

i didnt notice late hits, and the penalties were not bad. several of them (the offsides mostly) were from energy which is less of a concern. i recall saban's teams having many problems with blocking in the back on returns.

JR's run--i agree--shades of BOOTY. its possible that we'd be better of with RP.

Pissing away the two minutes.-----hell, you bitch about not being able to move the ball and you expect them to do go 80 yds? i know what youre saying, but do you trust JR to make the correct decisions in that situation? a fumble or pick at UT wins in regulation. you may be right here, but i think its a tough call.

i think using hester is good and neither he, nor Brazille were used too much. it might have something to do with who UT is focusing on--Bowe, Green.

screens?---UT wasnt sending the house or overplaying much. dont think screens would have been effective. even bubble screens since their dbs were jamming the receivers. if anything, we should have aired it out more (requires qb protection-which i think there was enough of, but JR gets rattled)

more TE? id like to see more to them too, but they are not playmakers, we never got a rhythm, and UT won without them. we at least went to them twice.

finally, lost dbs in zone D. so far, i chalk it up to second game with the system and clausens execution

maybe you should be fired because of this post?
    Something to prove versus MSU?

If "any" football team can't get up with something to prove, playing a top
25 team in the country something is wrong.
A top ten team should be a step above that!

We will have our work cut out for us if we are going to beat "any" top 25
team the rest of the year!
