    My comments:

    1. If you had told me that we could hold Riggs to 70 yards, I would have said we would win the game. Tennessee didn't have a quarterback that could beat us in the air we thought. So far, any quarterback that is comfortable with a short drop, quick pass offense will pick up steady yardage against the LSU defense. Clausen never made a pass longer than 9 yards but he moved the ball steadily like Matt Mauck. This defense has to improve against the pass very quickly.

    2. There is no excuse for this team to be so out of condition on that 7 or 8 key players missed time due to leg cramping. What are the trainers doing if not hydrating these players in a game like this?

    3. Jamarcus Russell must learn when to get rid of the ball. He needs to learn how to manage the clock. He still locks onto his primary receiver when we've got guys flying all over the field. The offense was predictable. In the second half we only threw 9 times and only in obvious passing situations. This offense must improve very quickly.

    4. LSU must have a balanced attack. We can't just run inside against top defensive lines. We have speed, why so few toss sweeps and outside runs. LSU also needs a ball-control short passing game with the tight ends involved.

    5. I don't know what happened in the halftime locker room, but the team that went in was damn sure not the team that came back out.

    6. Special teams were excellent again, thank goodness. Skyler Green looks to be in 2003 form on returns--he is going to bust a big one soon. No FGs or PATs were missed. Two punts were downed near the goal line. Kickoffs were long. Coverage was good.

    7. This team had better find some game discipline. Too many foolish, costly penalties. Too much trash talkin'. I saw defensive backs looking at the endzone and waving their arms trying to pump up the crowd instead of watching the offensive setup. [/QUOTE]
