I grew up in North Louisiana. Limb bacon was, and is, a staple. I see them little sumbitches every morning on the Capitol lawn and think about gravy.
Sorry if crossed you with my sarcasm Tiga :yelwink2: I actually do love PB&J though. It was a staple of my diet as a kid. I packed my lunch to school everyday from 1st grad to HS and had a PB&J sandwich in there about 99% of the time. Jiff crunchy peanut butter and Welch’s grape jelly...umm
As a kid, and even into adulthood, if I had to make my own supper it was homemade french fries with lots of salt and black pepper accompanied by 4 or 5 slices of buttered white bread. Amazingly, my cholesterol has always been well below acceptable norms.
When I was around 15 or 16, I would drive to the local stop and rob, pay a couple of old bruthas to go buy some cheap @$$ Skohl Vodka. Mixed it with root beer usually. Until I got sick as a phuckin' dog and ended up in a hospital. Now I HATE root beer.
Oooh...that reminds me. I spent one summer at LSU going to class, working, rec center, and reading Grisham books while drinking iced tea with Jim Beam. I haven't tried it since, but only because I keep forgetting to give it another whirl.
i just remembered one from when i was a kid. i loved to dip french fries in soft serve vanilla ice cream.
