It would seem so; that's the only LSU game I regularly go to - and if there have been as many as 1,000 razorback fans at any of the games that I've been to, then I need a new prescription. It's a great day for a football game and it shocked me the first time I saw the game how few razorbacks attended
I don't know. It seemed that ever since 1992, the Ark/LSU game just isn't as big as some other rival games. I always remembered the Florida/Auburn/Bama home games being bigger from a tail-gating, atmoshphere type thing then the Arkansas game.
I thin the reason Tulane is 8-0 agasint Tech is because 7 of those meetings were when Tech was IAA, III, or first year IA.
The Ark/LSU is beginning to heat up. The last two years it has been a really good game. CBS seems to think its a rival game. 2002 and 2001 both for the west title. I really hope that this year that its for the west title again. Good luck tigers.
Your proposed schedule rotation dosen't leave any room for LSU to EVER play a home and home with a Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami or anybody esle in the big leagues. I personally don't give a flying f*ck if LSU never plays Tulane or any other in state team again unless they elevate their programs to the point where they are real rivals. I would like to see an occasional game against the Aggies but not every year.
Getting the the whole point of this thread, intense rivalries can't be manufatured. The have to develope naturally over time. The only great rivalries I can think of between teams not in the same state are: 1. Ohio State - Michigan 2. Texas - Oklahoma 3. USC - Notre Dame 4. Army - Navy There are others like Georgia - Florida that are great but don't have the "We hate them above all others and they hate us above all others Our season is a success if we beat them" intensity of an Ohio State -Michigan game. If LSU is ever to have that kind of rivalry with an out of state team it will be with Arkansas. In the time the Razorbacks have been in the SEC there have been several great down to the wire games with the shootout in 2001 and the miracle finish by the Hogs last year with the home team usually winning. Keep on having games like those and given the fact that we call Hog fans ignorant hillbillies and they refer to us as stupid coon asses and that Louisiana and Arkansas are neighboring states in time the rivalry should develope to the same level of hatred for each other that Tide Fans and Auburn fans have for each other. I can't wait.
