Just wanted to give a "HOLLA" to another fellow Bayou Lafourche-er! :D ....I'm from Galliano--moved up to Boston 2 years ago.

How is "Da Baya" these days?

I think we could supplant UVA. I mean that is no RRS, it is no egg bowl, it is no iron bowl. I think we could totally set up a huge rivalry with VA Tech.

You have to note that just about all big time OOC rivalries are typically in the same state or in neighboring states. Viriginia Tech isn't exactly very close to here.

An excellant point Bayoubengal, but what if we played them every year on labor day weekend.

This is all wishful thinking untill thw 12 game schedual becomes a permanent thing.

The problem with having Va Tech every year is travel. Going up there one time was cool but who would actually make it up there every 2 years when looking at a 20 hour drive?

Arkansas is the perfect rival for us. They need one too.

yeah. right. Everyone over here feels the Big 12 is the strongest conference with such powers teams as Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas
    and Iowa State.

Now how do you know why Brown scheduled the game, Bud? The deal you propose explains, I guess, why the series won't resume. That may make sense for LSU - it makes no sense for Tulane (we don't play road warrior as a general principle as it puts the football team in a difficult spot as far as winning goes; LSU pays BELOW MARKET rates to the ULs and will not pay Tulane more than the ULs; the ULs play 2 road warrior games a year, they've been itching to play LSU for decades, so it's a good deal for them; but not us).
    Addressing a few other comments:
Tulane won't have any problem meeting 1A requirements.
La Tech has had 5 winning seasons (counting only games against 1A teams) since they've been 1A and Tulane 4. Tulane is 8-0 v. Tech; Tech recently lost to a 1AA team; Tulane has 2 bowl wins to Tech's 0; Tech has never been ranked. Tech has beaten more high profile opponents, only 2 of which were any good however - Ok State last year and Bama in 1999. Tulane has beaten more bowl teams, although those teams don't have great reps for the most part. Tech's schedules, until they joined the WAC, consisted of sun belts, 1AAs, big west, MAC and a few road warrior games. Their schedules are better now and comparisons more accurate. I think a Tulane-Tech game would work if the teams are good and if played in shreveport- for the first few games, tech fans would be excited about it, then it would be just another game for them.
