We lost to UF and still won the National Championship

I picked LSU at 9-2 for a regular season performance. Lose to 2 out of Tenn., Fla., Auburn, Bama.

The season is not over. We will not go undefeated every year. We don't have a Jr or Sr QB on this team.

Failing to get a field goal at the end of the first half hurt us a lot. Game and clock mgmt. JR did it last year, he can't run and stay in bounds without a TO.

D and O both looked poor in the second half. In the first half, I didn't think we looked that good, it looked more like Tenn. was trying to give us the game. They were beating themselves dropping balls in the open.

We can still out talent most folks and make 9-2. To do better than that, you have to out talent and out coach the other team. It does not look to me like we will be out coaching many of our SEC bretheren... :nope:

I gave the staff a second chance. I'm not impressed. They will have to improve a lot for us to be great.

 

Well I know a championship caliber football team when I see one and we ain't it. We've got the talent and potential, but that's about it.

 

No offense and no defense. It's gonna be tough.

I'm really surprised by this and didn't see it coming.

We won't be in the SEC Championship anytime soon if our team
plays like the first 2 games.

 

I am proud of the players though, well most of them. Not real pleased with the defense scheme and the QB play and the over conservative playing in the second half. BUT dammit OUR BOYS GOT HEART!

Let's use MISS STATE as a warm up for Vandy? get the wheels back on this dahm wagon... somebody send them dahm coaches a note, either lead or follow but get the hell out of the WAY! :geauxtige

 

Wow, this coming from SabanFan? Uh-oh.

THe only thing that can salvage this season (besides a very unlikely running of the table) is a USC loss. That is about all I am looking forward to now.

We won a national title with defense, we don't have that anymore or yet

I'm confused. Is it our coaching staff? team chemistry? not having a team leader? Man, that was absolutely pitiful. I'm not saying that because we lost. I was feeling that way most of the game!! We just don't seem to "click" as a team. It seems that when we need a big play(offensively or defensively) we just seem to not quite get there. I think that's what separates our program from other top ones. Other top programs seem to have that KO punch that we lack. We were up 24-7 to a mediocre Tennessee team and then we just lay down while they come back and kick our azz. There is no excuse for this from one of the top programs in the country. We need to get something figured out and quick cuz Florida will do to us what USC did to Arkansas. Maybe this a wake up call for Les Miles and everyone involved

 

I agree with you but we still had a smart QB and a dominant defense. Today we have an questionable QB and a not so good defense.

 

....and a better coach.
