I think college football is having a down year. ACC may be a better conference than SEC this year, as someone pointed out. I think fans say the other team is overrated because they are only looking for their weaknesses, which of course there are always some. When I think about it, I'll admit that I'm one to say a bunch of teams are overrated. I suppose it just seems like if you are ranked in the top 10 or even 15, you should be awesome, but the truth is - any given year there's no more than 3 GREAT teams (sometimes none). Everybody else is just good, and a lot of luck/hype can influence where you are in the polls.
dawg Homer. :dis: texas would destroy UGA on their best day. so would VT. UGA might beat SC but I wouldn't put money that way. the top 3 teams are really the top three teams folks. the Iowa hawker is right, after that there isn't a whole lot of difference.
Ya know, I really wanted to see Georgia play Texas last year in a bowl game. Unfortunately, the conference tie-ins matched them with a lower ranked Michigan team that Texas only beat in the last minute of play. No way to really prove it, but I think a Georgia-Texas matchup this year would be a very close game IMO. But first things first. A Georgia win over Florida this week would clinch the SEC East.
