Possibly but a fully healthy JR will be tough to beat :thumb:

Flynn played great tonight, but you don't take the job from a guy that has only lost two games as a starter by completing 13 passes.

I wonder if Russell was listening when they referred to him as "that other guy" during the second half?

Leadership, IMO that is what separates Flynn and JR. I will be disappointed if Flynn is not the starter next year.

Isn't it strange that against the vaunted Miami defense LSU had it's best game of the season. Matt Flynn does NOT have the arm of Russell, but that didn't stop him from throwing the long bomb, connecting on (dare I say it) medium range passes, and running wild. All of a sudden, in one game, Jimbo Fisher and Les Miles don't seem so offensively clueless. Our offense has been weak all season long, but I dare say tonights team was national championship caliber. We would give USC and Texas a game.

If Russell starts next year and we don't look dominant as a team, I want to see Flynn.

Physical abilities are great, but intelligence, presence, and poise in your quarterback is also very important. Flynn may have Russell in that department. If I were recruiting qbs, I'd have to find a way to judge the intangibles.

Man, I really hate to argue this because I do not want to take anything away from what Flynn did.

But I just don't see a leadership difference. What I did see was a completely different playbook, an Oline that finally played to par, receivers that finally made a few great catches to help him out, and a healthy Addai that really made it all happen.

The long pass to Bowe should have been a pick, and Addai adjusted perfectly to catch a bad pass for the 4 yard TD.

Flynn completed 13 of 22 for 196 yards and did not throw an int. He played great. He did nothing wrong, and I am glad for him. I just don't see that he did anything that puts him on JR's level.

Nothing negative, as I don;t think anything better could have happened for the Tigers Tonight.

The way that we played tonight on both sides of the ball, I do not doubt that one bit.
