I agree that the causes for the Peach Bowl win are multifactorial....prettty much a team effort. However, the poise and smoothness of game management shown by Flynn in such a pressure situation: as first time starter against a highly nationally touted defense cannot be ignored, and is certainly an eye opener. I agree with your point about judging MF by concentrating at only one game is dangerous and may not be valid; however looking back at his prior limited time on the field during the season, his quick strikes and scores against North Texas in retrospect may not be flukes but the real thing, as he did the same with the TD to Davis.

I don't think the team could have responded much to Flynn when he had to step in for JR at the SECCG for two reasons : the game was pretty much almost out of reach when he came in (needed a miracle to surmount the deficit), and more importantly, the long schedule just took away any little reserve the offense may have for them even to respond to whoever that comes in.

What I think also tips the balance between JR and MF is that based on the pattern of play from all prior games, MF has shown faster reads and decision making, and better play aciton.

    Exactly!

This would be the equivelent of selling a stock that has made you money 10 out or 12 months in favor of one that profited for one day.

EXACTLY, they've always known how to catch, we just needed to THROW the ball to them in such a manner they could catch it.

the coach? WTF? the hurricane?? :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:

    It's called TOUCH.

No you're right pardner, Recievers don't do this for 10 games then all of a sudden change because they slept well. You know what's going on. Props for using commone sense. :thumb:

Tell me, what about Flynn's touch seperated him from JaMarcus? Does JaMarcus throw to hard? Does JaMarcus not hit receivers in the right spot?

From what I can tell, JaMarcus has put touch on the ball most of the season. Even though his throws aren't right on, neither are Matt's.

I said that Flynn did make a difference with the receivers catching better - just that Flynn was not the only difference & reason for their success in the bowl game.

The starting QB will probably not be named until late August. This will definitely be an interesting 8 months until the season starts. 8 months until another LSU football game, this is going to be rough.
