We'll miss both Johnsons I think. The option and zone read are going to be our bread and butter.. we have a guard that we'll be pulling quite often in SEC play I think.
The title of Homer Simpson's thread is laughable. Truth is we look like we will be battling Auburn for 3rd in the West.
After one game.. that we won? Really? He's not saying we kept the game close on purpose -- he's saying that we cuffed the offense on purpose. The game plan was to run the ball, get out of there with a win, and see how young players reacted in a hostile environment. I don't think anyone can disagree with that.
I am of the opinion that it was WH linebackers who were not being blocked; who were making most of the tackles, not so much theIr DL. That's what I observed.
UA & OM seem to be as advertised leading up to the season. So yes, after one game that we won, looks about like we may battle with AU for 3rd in the West.
Was it just a case of them playing 8 in the box and us not having the numbers to block them while running up the middle?
Alabama beat a very poor VT team. It takes offense and defense to win a football game. LSU would have beaten VT in a similar fashion IMO, and that's not saying much.. it's incredibly easy to stop a 1 dimensional attack (see: LSU vs Georgia Tech) Ole Miss looked off and on.. but that's probably because of it being early in the season. I think we should wait until after Vandy until we establish the pecking order in the west. I'm confident we'll win by 21 or so. I also expect a fairly vanilla game plan in week 2.. with a bit more passing.
yeah red says let's just keep failing with what we got versus correcting the situation by putting better players in place
