Well bayarea's right and bayou_bandit's right to some extent. What bayarea missed out on was saying that if Florida loses then we would pass them, which I do believe we would. Same for bandit. Sure Ohio State losing and they are guaranteed no worse than #2. But Florida doesn't get the same protection. Ohio State will more than likely beat Florida easily. LSU will beat Notre Dame easily. All we need is for USC to beat Michigan, which I think will happen. 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. USC 4. Florida
While it's nice to finish #2... is there really an advantage? I think blowing out Notre Dame in the Sugar is the only thing we really NEED to happen. If we finish 3 or 4 instead of 2, I don't think it would be a big deal. Just keep the recruiting machine going, get some positive pub at the end of this season to start us in a good spot next.
PERHAPS - it would allow us to start the season higher in the preseason polls... ...and we won't have as far to climb ala tOSU this year....
I agree with DarkHornet completely. The big win over Notre Dame and the exposure of being the only game in town on January 3rd could pay huge dividends for the stretch run with recruiting. Where we finish in the polls is quite secondary. Some big name 5 star players still haven't made up their mind as of yet and have LSU in their sights. Let's finish this thing off right and head into next season a top 3 preseason pick.
Who is to say that even if we beat ND and then USC beats Michigan that the Press and there love of USC won't jump them over us. They have jumped USC over teams before that they shouldn't have. Lets just Crush ND and let the rest take care of itself. B
I don't see USC winning.......they've barely edged out teams all year long- they could easily have 2 more losses this year- and lost to OSU and UCLA....this will be the best team they've faced all year and the Rose Bowl is jinxed for them! :hihi: Hard to believe but there is a lot of talk about Pete returning to NFL (on their forum).
New on the forum, so please take it easy. Just wondering, where did we finish the year last year, and where were we at the beginning of this year? I sure hope we THUMP Notre lame good so they don't start the year off ranked as high as they did this year. If we do thump 'em, Herbie will start the year off by saying that they'll be in the BCSCG by years end. Am I the only one that heard him say that about Miami?:rofl:
