Incredible. It took less than 9 years for the libs to forget all about 9/11. But they'll still be bitching about BP 50 years from now.

9 years fighting a group of individuals with no army, planes, ships, nothing.

Our military is not trained to nation build and setup governments. They are trained for war.

Check it out Fred. We don't do the "Nation Building" "directly". We do however have to get them to a point where they can sustain a level of normalcy so that the infastructure can be rebuilt. The bad guys run around blowing up water mains, electrical towers, roads, bridges and all that type of crap. When they get to square 2 some idiot with a bomb puts them back to square -1.5. Many of these clowns used to reside in high level offices and therein lies the problem. You will understand when you get a lil older... maybe.

we need to be bitching about both 50 years from now.

there should be no forgetting 9/11 and who sheltered al qaeda (the taliban in afghanistan, for those that missed the meeting) and do all we can to keep from giving them a safe haven again. we may not "win" in the traditional sense of those that want a clear w in the win/loss column. but if we can keep them on the run and in disarray enough to disrupt their operations and ability to train and strengthen in afghanistan and pakistan, then slowly winning is doable. this is not a traditional war from either side, and many dont seem to understand that. this is a slow process of disrupt and weaken so that al qaeda is unable to pull off another 9/11.

how many afghan's or iraqi's actually bombed the towers and pentagon? From what i understood, most were Saudi's, but we have a long standing suck fest with them.

    See Okie's post above.
You should try being more of an American and less of a Democrat.

I don't know if that is in reference to any of my posts but I am certainly not liberal.

Besides, 9/11 was done by Al Qaeda, correct? (Forgive my spelling if I missed that one)

Al Qaeda is still in Afghanistan as far as I know. And in Pakistan too. Are there still Al Qaeda elements in Iraq? And what did we invade Iraq for? Because of Al Qaeda? Or Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Next thing you know they will tell us Osama Bin Laden is in Iran so we have to go in there and find him.....

It's an impossible thing to win..."The War on Terror"....it will go on endlessly.

If the people who run this country really wanted to make America safe they would guard the borders and kick all the illegal aliens out and make sure they know who any foreigners are in the country. Any country whose citizens are involved in terrorist attacks on our soil result in the immediate expulsion of all the citizens from Country X back home. If Saudis keep getting on planes and blowing them up then stop Saudis from boarding the planes.

Don't go invade Saudi Arabia over it.....

Why wouldn't that work? Why do we have to go around the world invading countries? Because they knocked over a couple of buildings and blew up some planes? I don't see that as an existential threat to the US. Every European country involved in WWII had much worse done to them and they all recovered fine.

The US involvement overseas is going to be the end of this country and we didn't even lose over something that we had to fight for....it's just plain stupid.

It's better to remain silent and have people think you're a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
