What bowl do you think we will land if we win/lose at Ar-kansas?

What do you expect? After all, he's the best coach since Stallings... :yelwink2:

Believe it or not, there is reason to be excited in Alabama. His players have bought in and although not as talented as many teams, have the determination to be a winner...and the recruiting classes are shaping up to be tip top. Wasn't all of you excited when Saban got his feet planted in Baton Rouge?

The last national title Alabama won was when I was 9...So yeah, I have a reason to be a little giddy.

We may bet beat by Florida, but hey, I would be happy with a trip to Nawlins too! Miami would be just a lil better though... :yelwink2:

    Two big differences:

    1. Even though Florida was never a "perrenial national power" before Spurrier arrived, they have never been in South Carolina's shadow. LSU has been in AMAB's shadow forever. Look at your own post: "make Bama into what it should be". The sense of entitlement from AMAB fans is deep, and so to "have one of our own" helping them return to the top is especially annoying (and LSU fans knew it would happen). Sure, that's jealousy. It's also reality.

    2. Whenever Spurrier talked about his successer, he said that "old Zook just ain't getting it done." From the day Saban took the job in Tuscaloosa, he claimed responsibility for a lot of the success that Miles has had (see the quotes about the Sugar Bowl in his initial press conference). The media ran with that theme hard--I have never seen the media focus on 'winning with the old guy's players' longer than they have with Miles. Not when Coker did it, not when Sweater Vest did it, not when Meyer did it. The first acknowledgement of Miles' accomplishment from anyone wearing a crimson shirt came from Saban when he said before this year's game that "Miles won more than I would have"--22 months after he started the whole theme.

I like Saban and I like Miles. Both are a big improvement over our coaches in the past. But to think that the Florida and LSU situations are the same, you need to look again.

OBTW, Miles isn't going to Washington.

The only thing that would have made that better is to use an old photo with Nick in a purple shirt. LMAO.
