But if Bush were President now they would be trashing him relentlessly. He was accused of hating Black people, blowing the levees for Katrina....hell, they even blamed Katrina on him, they laughed when an idiot threw a shoe at him, etc, etc, etc... I think Democrats/the Media would call any Republican President a racist and an idiot. So it's fun watching Trump punch & judo chop back and maybe healthy, given all his negatives.
Clinton and Obama didn't call a person a "son of a bitch" for silently protesting racial injustice, either.
You're right about the democrats trashing every republican but that doesn't mean that it's a good idea to act as Trump has. I think Reagan had the best response to the hate directed at him.
They absolutely did. It's just Reagan and Bush Sr had better response. Also to intimidate that W or Romney are racist is ridiculous and demagoguery. It's been a favorite tool of the democrats since LBJ.
I'll summarize my position on the matter: - No sane American soldier has ever died for a flag. - The right to protest peacefully is foundational to our country. - Protesting TO the flag is not disrespectful of either the flag nor of anybody who fought for it. - Presidents of the USA are not legitimate leaders when they curse people for exercising their constitutional rights. - A football game is not a funeral, and it's ridiculous to think we should expect the same behavior at a sporting event that we do for a ceremony for a fallen soldier. - It was TRUMP, not Kaerpernick, who disrespected America by cursing a civil liberty and by implicitly dismissing a citizen's justified concerns over racism, and anybody who defends Trump's "son of a bitch" statement is as cretinous and unAmerican as he is.
That's what is wrong with today's politician, it's about winning at all cost even if it hurts the people they are supposed to be helping. They are like spoiled children, when they lose they try to destroy the efforts of those who won, instead of getting back to the people's business. They spend their entire time in office destroying each other. It's a rule or ruin society! America is not the democracy the founding fathers intended it to be and I'm sure a collapse is eminent. Rome lasted over 300 years and collapsed from within and America is a mirror image of that government.
It's not ridiculous to want performers or employees to respect the country. A lot of these guys are of the belief that the country doesn't respect them; I think there is some validity but they are so triggered they see conspiracy in everything. It's an imperfect rebellion, I applaud those who call them out for the failings, but to ignore any validity to their statement also sucks. Right and wrong on both sides.
