We may all have a pet peeve about our nation, but there is also always going to be more to appreciate about the United States than there is ever going to be to be discontented. I will always stand for our national anthem. When it is playing on my television or radio, I do not change station or turn it off until the anthem is concluded. With that said, it is the right to protest peacefully without fear of retaliation that makes this nation, even with the unappreciative clueless knuckleheads who live in it, the greatest nation on earth.
I always find this take very interesting. The amount of hard work and physical pain it takes to play in the NFL is astounding. For every Tom Brady, who will retire rich and probably live a long life - there are 100 guys who will make good money for a couple of years, then wash out of the league in their 20s, where they will have to get a job just like the rest of us. Constant pain, medical bills and probably CTE await them. Not to mention none of us would last 20 minutes at the easiest NFL practice. Anyone who got their wish to trade places with a football player would beg for his old life after one day.
What's the average salary in the U.S.??? 50k a year...give anyone of those a chance to 10 times his salary even for one year and they jump on it and stay with it.
These guys have the right to do this. But the question is should they? They are only increasing division in the country with their actions
