I think Lattimore is the best SEC RB. If he were running for LSU or Bama he would have better numbers then both of them. With that said i will still take our guys over anyone else.

But the reason he can't get to and through the hole is because he isn't fast enough. I'm not a big fan of those stretch plays that take a long time to develop with Ware, he definitely is straight north-south runner. He has his best success when running with a full head of steam and driving defenders back.

I agree Lattimore is better than Richardson, but not by a whole lot.

We're probably the only team in the nation that goes 4 deep at RB, but our talent level is not quite as great as some of you seem to think.

I agree. That's cause he doesn't have as much speed at Trent. :D

Ware prefers lowering his head and running over defenders than running away from them.

If Ware and Richardson didnt have to sit out the 4th quarter of every game they would have better numbers too.

No love for lattimore? I wish lsu had lattimore. He would fit well in clm's style of smashmouth between the tackles running.

Where would ridley be in this list of runningbacks if he would have stayed his senior season? He's playing very well in new England. I'm so happy he got the chance to play at a championship contending team and get the opportunity to play. He had a great article written about him and he's doing well at representing lsu in the NFL. Lsu running backs have had great success in the NFL. That's the greatest complement to lsu's ability to produce quality backs. Ware will play on Sundays. Ford and Blue may play on Sunday. Richardson will play on Sundays without a doubt.

I was ranking THOSE 5 running backs. That isn't a top 5 of all running backs! :yelwink2:

Richardson is the better back. It's not a negative on ware, just fact.LSU is 4 deep at rb right now (Ware,Ford,Blue,Mcgee starting to work in) we don't need 1 back to have 1,000 yards. We keep our running game strong due to the fact we have fresh legs that rotate in. We play a different ball game than bama. they prefer a feature back and a bruiser as a backup. we use 3, sometimes 4, who all excell at one thing or another.

Perhaps "speed" isn't the right word then, but rather "initial burst".

I suppose it is Richardson's initial burst that gets him through the hole so quick without defenders wrapped around him, rather than just strength.
