Lavalais always struck me as a fairly shy-looking person when he was interviewed. His persona on the football field wasn't like that, but he may not be the most gregarious of the Tigers to meet somewhere.
I guess that means you saw black folks there, Gomer. Shazzam! The place is always full of LSU students, alumni, and athletes. Around town it is known as the "LSU Wal-Mart". Yes, it is the original and it is small and old and about to be replaced . . . but if you think it's in the ghetto, you ain't never seen the ghetto.
I don't think it has as much to do with the location, or the people who shop there. I think his has to do with the condition of the building. Look at it... It's been way overdue to be moved to a new location. It just looks like it isn't taken care of.
I didn't say it was in the ghetto I said it was ghetto. I was using the word ghetto to describe walmart not the area that walmart is in. And I have seen the ghetto trust me I use to work at casino rouge and use to have to go deep into the ghetto to fill up the secruity van. Not the mention the area that is around Ft Benning, now that is GHETTO in every sense of the word. I use to go to that walmart all the time because I was to lazy to drive all the way to Seigen. I could care less who shops there the fact that makes it ghetto is the fact that in a town the size of baton Rouge there is still a Brown signed walmart. Those things went the way of the dinosaur. Hell even Galliano has a Newer walmart, and they have like 10 people living in that town.
Now that is a description I like. It is definitely a brown-signed Walmart and the first built in BR. It ain't even an original Wal-Mart building. When I was in school in the early 70's it was a Woolco.
I've never heard it called the "LSU Walmart" just "Ghetto-Mart." And none of my friends or I go there. We just drive to the one on Siegen. The last time I was in that store it was dirty and there were items all over the floor. I'd much rather drive to Siegen.
Now if you really wanna go ghetto shopping, try the ghetto-Albertson's on College. Went in there one time. The floors were dirty and there was a half-eaten salad (from the in-store salad bar) in one of the aisles. I could go on, but its not worth it. That Albertson's is so much more ghetto than the LSU Wal-Mart will ever be. Nice touch on the Brown-sign Wally World. I completely forgot about that.
Alright, I'm here to tell you the Albertson's on College ain't no fricking ghetto...If Sandy Bertman shops there-and she does all the time, I see her-it ain't ghetto. Now the Acadian Wally World? That's ghetto. When you have to ask the lady in the automotive department to get off the phone with her Pre-Paid Legal person to open the door for you, and then proceeds to tell you not to get on her case, and explains WHY she's on the phone with pre-paid legal, then that's ghetto. I would say that if I were in the Denham Springs Wal-Mart if it looked like it was out of the 1970's era Wally World Design and there were things in there that I've seen at Acadian... Finally... THE MOST Ghetto Wal-Mart is the one I like to call Scotlandville South...That's located behind Cortana...It truly proves that the surrounding area has nothing to do with a retail establishment's relative level of "ghetto-ishness". Go there if you value your life...
LMAO The Big joke expats have here is telling everyone what they're gonna do after they put their ten years in ... Everybody jokes ... I'm gonna be the "Wal-Mart Greeter" I'll be sure to tell the "Bullet-proof" Tigers (over age 50 with 10+ years in)over here about this cherry of a job position during our upcoming annual LSU Saudi Arabian Chapter Dinner
