i percieve his comments and other like them to be racist. may i ask what your criteria would be? if he wore a hood and a robe and made those comments against "black america" would your perception be different?
he needs to say that the black race is superior or that the white race is inferior. being pissed off about perceived injustices doesnt = racism. yes
The desperate McCain campaign, having no new mud to throw, have dredged up tales that have already been widely discussed and tossed aside during the primaries. This obvious distraction just doesn't fly when there are important issues on the table--namely the economy, the economy, the economy, . . . and the war. Guilt by association needs something more sinister than racist comments by somebody else and far more heinous than having known a distinguished English Professor who had been a '60's radical when Obama was a child. He never associated with a terrorist, he associated with another guy who lived in his neighborhood and who was on the same Chicago charity boards. Obama has never endorsed either person's philosophies and has condemned both of their views. End of story. Now what about the economy, Senator McCain?
as a reluctant mccain supporter i agree. mccain needs to wrap his mind around one thing: willi be better off tomorrow than i am today. rev wright et al really doesn't matter, what does matter is jobs and how far will my paycheck go and can i pay the utilities. if mccain can't do a better job at those questions than he has been then he will lose convincingly 4 weeks from today.
rev wright is a marine. i guess it was a bit hyperbolic, but your admiration for Ollie North (a great soldier but questionable american) contrasts with your disdain for wright. im sure i dont really understand semper fi, but it seems absolute.
He is, and always will be a Marine. Lee Harvey Oswald and Charles Whitman were Marines also. I don't care for them very much either. I fail to see your point. Calling Col. North a "questionable American" only shows your ignorance. Also, Marines are not "soldiers".
is that all semper fi means then. an affirmation of a fact that needs no affirmation sorry about the "soldier" use. it was used to describe how loyal he was not to which branch of the military he was in. this characteristic is exactly why i called him a questionable american. destroying important government documents because your boss tells you to is being a good soldier but it is dishonorable. the drug-running association i have less of a problem with, but at the very least its hypocritical since the War on Drugs was being pushed so hard.
What about the illegal selling TOW missiles to Iran thing? He was supposed to be running a covert op and it blew up all over Ronald Reagan. The marines have a lot of sharper knives than this guy.
