Not only was Namath praising LSU, but the Alabama Radio Network, which did a pregame show before the Tide pregame show radio broadcast, was assuming that LSU would beat Bama, Ole Miss and Arkansas and that they would win the SEC championship. Their point was that even with a four game win streak LSU might not get into the National Championship hunt. I was shocked at how favorably they assessed LSU.
