Did LSU have a 10-2 Record in 1996? "People seem to forget that." Jean, be sure to let you're pal's on Woopig about "LSU's sad news".
I was stationed in Arkansas with the US Military. Woopig was a nice place to post while Arky was my home. The Woopiggers are a humorous bunch and fun to hang out with. I live near New York City now. While I was never a Hog fan, even when I lived in Arky, I find myself pulling for the NY Mets, NY Jets, NY Giants and a little bit for the NY Yankees. Perple and the rest. I clearly recall that towards the end of the Gerry DiNardo era that sports commentators had pegged LSU as a HC Graveyard for football coaches. Now some of them say that we are the best college HC job in the country! I certainly hope that people still say that in the future. I never want to be pegged as a HC Graveyard again.
Absolutely. Absolutely right! The rest of the SEC is feels exactly the same way about Saban leaving us as we did when SOS left Florida. They are glad that Saban is gone.
I agree. I agree with this completely. My point in the other post is that if a program has to hire and fire a few coaches, it can get pegged as a Coaches Graveyard by the media. LSU got pegged that way after we fired DiNardo and before we found Saban. Whether the characterization was justified or not, that's what they said about LSU back then.
You are quite right Lafitte. Saban was the best coach in the SEC over the past four years. Even though Richt has won 10+ games over each of the last three years, I still felt that Saban was the best coach in the SEC. When your fellow posters said, "be afraid, be very afraid," there was a great coach behind those words. Now, with Miles, LSU is only another decent team, but not a team to be feared. I doubt that Miles will ever see the Georgia Dome aside from the Peach Bowl.
