from what ive read/heard about grant, dont be too surprised if he's a step down from brady as an xs and os coach. that's actually less important than it sounds, but i thought it was worth writing since that was one of the main complaints against brady. grant runs a guard-dominated team with high energy D. penetration and kickouts on O and effective press on D is something that was lacking under brady, but i'd imagine grants style of play will change quite a bit if he is as good a recruiter as his rep.
I had Lon Kruger on my lists and yes, he should get a call, definitely. Why is Grant mentioned by people? That's the question? Grant is mentioned the same way Scott Drew is mentioned. Grant is just mentioned more because he has done well at VCU and was a recruiter and assistant in the SEC. He coached at an SEC school that one back to back titles. I don't see anyone in here calling him sexy except you. He's at the top of the list for some people because he's a popular name right now, respected by other coaches and schools and won as an assistant at an SEC school that won titles. Anything else you want answered before you drop the "sexy' nonsense?
Naturally I will disagree with you here and I'll use Brady's actions to prove it. The first one was Brady's rant about four years ago where he came out and said that he didn't know what happened but everytime he turned around a player left for the NBA early or something like that. No GOOD coach would ever say such foolish things. The pressure cooker was getting to him before the final four year. I find it hilarious how some discount coaches that were one and done in the tournament, discounting the regular season. Not only that, Brady didn't even make the tournament for a number of years. None of the coaches mentioned probably had a record as poor as Brady's the last two seasons. What a joke! The Second point is what Brady said about the football team this year and the game schedules. Often times Brady would run his mouth and no one understood what the hell he was talking about. Btw, Brady sure has also looked like a good xs and os coach the last two years. Actually BP did a much better job than him this year! Any good coach can also take the team of players one has and find a way to make things work which something Brady couldn't do the last two years. Before you respond, think about it? I'm I wrong? I don't think so!:thumb:
The point really is that they were one of the top programs (two time NCAA Champs at the time) when they were considering Grant. What's happened to Florida since then is not relivant to the discussion at hand.
I believe Florida basketball is one of the top programs in the country. This years team is not one of the top teams in the country but their program is still one of the best in the country. So because they didn't make the NCAA tourney this year, Grant shouldn't be considered for any job openings? I don't get what Florida not making the NCAA tourney has to do with a discussion if Grant is qualified to be the coach at LSU.
Well, I think they lost every single one of their starters from last year to the NBA. If that doesn't classify you as a top program, I don't know what does.
