Every league needs a doormat. Vandy has cheerfully served as the SEC doormat for decades. We can't all go 10-2, there have to be some losers in the conference.
Tulane was one of those founding SEC member schools. I wouldn't mind seeing Tulane back in the SEC. Ole Miss and Miss St recruit fine with two SEC schools in the same state, and a better example is Ala/AU. It could work. It wasn't that long ago Tulane was undefeated and in the same position as TCU. Sports run on a cycle, poor team today can be great in a few years, and great teams today can go down. LSU would still be able to recruit, and we would get our long time rival game back. But Vandy isn't going anywhere, I can't see them leaving the SEC on their own.
1. Miami 2. Texas 3. Florida State 4. Texas A&M 5. Georgia Tech 6. Clemson 7. West Virginia 8. Louisville 9. Marshall 10. Southern Miss 11. Tulane Start at the top of the list and ask down until someone agrees. Then, let Vandy hire Scott Cowen to eliminate their football program.
Vandy dosen't need any help to eliminate their football program. They are doing a fine job of that on their own.
