That's just crazy talk Ryan Perilloux is an outstanding QB. Did you happen to even notice that he accounted for six scores last week in ESJ's playoff win. I want to say 3 of those were runs, 2 by pass and the other was a 21 INT return for a TD. The kid is a superior athlete and it's just crazy to think that he couldn't come in and compete with the QB's we got now. Perilloux reminds me Reggie McNeal who came out of Lufkin High and is now the QB at A&M. I suspect that Perilloux will be a Tiger come February. Go to Hell lefire:
He's had at least 2 games with 7 TD's and he's returning kicks also - not wanting this kid in a Tiger Uniform because he's cocky is like not making out with Jessica Simpson because she's ditzy... Go see him play. Lots of kids beat up on less talented opponents in high school, but watch the things RP does and you will be extremely impressed.
I think we can all agree that the verbal he gave to UT (which is non-binding anyways) looks even shakier these days than it did in the preseason. Is there any doubt Texas is Vince Young's team, at least for the next 2 years? Isn't the offer of playing time a big deal for RP? Sure, JaMarcus may progress to the point that he is "the man" at QB come 2005, but him still having to split time at the very least with another QB is just as good a possibility. I also don't know if RP is or could be the answer in Baton Rouge, but I'd sure as hell like to have the chance to find out!
And it blows my mind how short some people's memories are. Have you forgotten the name Josh Booty? This Perrilloux kid may be the greatest thing since the pizza oven. So was Booty. ATTITUDE was the key factor. All I'm saying is that I'd rather go 9-2 or 8-3 every year w/ a stout "D" and if necessary, QB by committee the way we've won this year, than risk going 3-8 or 4-7 with a kid who may be all-world, but isn't coachable because of his attitude, and causes divisiveness on the team. Those who don't learn their history are doomed to repeat it. Just one man's opinion.
But I sure would have loved to have him instead of Herb at QB. And I'll take sides with those who feel RP would be well worth thr risk no matter how confident or cocky he is, hell just kick him off the team if he is causing problems. His high school coach seems to love him. Saban stills calls him every week and he is a pretty good judge of character and states over and over again that a players character is very important in determining who LSU recruits.
For the zillionth time, these kids read these sites. Of course it would be foolish to make a career decision based on one fan's opinion, but they want to feel liked too. I am not saying suck up to the high school kids. But why try to say something that won't help when Saban is doing his best to get RP here? If you doubt what I am saying, you don't follow recruiting.
I've been knowing his high school coach for a long time and I've seen Perilloux play. The kid is a stud and I'd love to see him in Purple & Gold.
