By putting Trindon in the game and not using him, you lose a blocker...

What kind of yardage is Trindon averaging? It's got to be pretty good, even with the defense knowing what's coming. He is used in the 4th quarter against tired defenses, and it's working fairly well although not spectacularly.

Eventually I think we'll see some bubble screens with him & maybe use him as a decoy, but it just hasn't been necessary up to this point.

If you use Trindon right, he occupies defenders without needing to block. Fake reverses, fake screens, play action, all will occupy multiple defenders, opening room for other people because he is so dangerous.

I think MSU showed how to defend him when he has the ball in his hands. Set up a wall of defenders to keep him from turning up field and just run him out of bounds. The thing about that is, if you set up the wall of defenders and Trindon doesn't have the ball, you have 2 or 3 defenders occupied in a wall that isn't doing them any good.

I agree with Fishhead....The Coaching staff know exactly wht they are doing with TH. In regards to Cparso's comment, I agree as well, we haven't had to use him as a decoy yet. I really think they will use him the same way in blowouts, so once we are in a competitive game, the opposition will think...."Now they will use TH as a decoy and Boom,....he runs all around them" The more he isn't uesd as a decoy plays mind games with Defenses.

Excellent points. I too think we are setting things up for later in the season. Of course, I also once thought that Bush had plan beyond the obvious. (Sorry, I know.. wrong forum. )

I would like to see him return punts. This gives him some space to ramp up the speed, although collisions on punt returns might just knock him into the stands.

Miles must not trust his hands back there in punt formation, just yet.

i think that because he's been used every play he's been on the field for, he might not have good hands (may also explain not returning punts) or be able to run good routes. of course he isnt likely to be an effective back for picking up blitzers, but he could release or run long routes (like faulk used to).

its great that the O is still productive with him being used every play he's in for because it sets up the decoy as has been mentioned. as cparso said, you wouldnt want to do the opposite (use him as a decoy often to set up using him) because he's a liability in many ways.

i cant remember, has he been used as a qb, like mcfadden, or more similarly, david palmer.

not nearly as elusive as palmer though. dont you agree?

No, and he never will be. He's 5'4" (regardless of what LSU lists him at). He couldn't see over the line.

are you too young to remember david palmer?

bama's only decent qb went down half way thru the season and they used him at qb all game. rarely or never passed and was somewhat effective. he couldnt have been much taller than holliday.
