With the exception of I believe Kansas and maybe some other mid-major school, EVERYONE had two losses last year.
Do I think they are? No. I just can't believe for one minute that they would be a one loss team if they played in the SEC this year. Nor do I believe Florida would have a loss if they played in the PAC 10 this year. I'd wager on them vs Oklahoma, but not Florida. They should have put aside the traditional Big-10/PAC-10 match up for USC/Utah, and let Bama and Penn State play in the Sugar. That would have been more interesting to me. Do I think it's possible they could win a playoff? Of course. Unfortunately for all us fans, a playoff is the only way they would ever be able to find out, and I'd pretty much bet that we won't get that until at LEAST 2014 when ESPN's contract with the BCS ends.
Nope. 1. We have all agreed on a system to determine the best team in the country and USC failed under that system. If they want to claim a "mythical best team" then drop out of the system and develop your own formula. 2. USC lost to Oregon State. Utah beat Oregon State and Bama. Texas has a better claim to deserving to be in the BCS Championship. If USC want to complain by saying they are the "best team in the country" they need to take a ticket and stand in line. 3. Almost all experts said at the beginning of the season the the Dallas Cowboys were the best team in the NFL and they failed to even make the playoffs. People must realize the best collection of talent is far, far from being by definition the best TEAM.
We can do it twice in a year -- only if everyone else loses two. Last year was the best anomaly ever for us.
yes. that defense is second to none and while the offense leaves a little to be desired they are potent enough to score the 14-21 points needed to beat just about anybody.
USC don't have enough offense this year. If Florida can keep OU grounded for 60 minutes, they'd have held USC to 10 or less. If the USC defense was amazing enough to win under those circumstances, then maybe, but I wouldn't have bet on it. At the end of last season, they were playing the best football, though.
i could see their game with UF going either way and beating zero U. i dont know if beating Utah would have gained them any cred from the south. we think we would since they beat bama but that is after the fact. agree :huh: :huh:
