No, but per a little change in the BCS rules as of a few years ago, they can, and should. The rule states that the school must be in good standing in order to receive a BCSNC, or something like that. That is more the part that I was referring to. Loss of scholarships is a pretty big deal, but having a few vacated wins and a loss of bowl game eligibility for 1 yr is pretty lame. When you consider that there have been punishments handed down to some programs that handicapped them, for what would seem like forever, for lessor violations. As we all know the NCAA has pretty deep pockets, so I guess if you fill them as much as USC does they aren't going to be willing to cut off that money train.
Losing 2 scholarships a year for 3 years would amount to little at USC. Losing 7-10 scholarships a year for 3 years would get everybody's attention. Bama lost 21 scholarships and USC must get more than that.
I read somewhere from a source saying USC is losing 17 scholarships over a 5 year window with a 3 year active window. The last part I do not understand but I assume it means 17 over 5 years. But are some of those for basketball too?
Well their msg boards should be entertaining for a bit. Many of them accept that USC screwed up, but just as many lay blame at the feet of the "haters". Just a witch hunt you see. :insane:
