Seems to me that championship was awarded by the AP, and the AP can decide to take it away and the NCAA has absolutely nothing to say about what the AP does with their championship, especially since it is not the real one (i.e. no crystal). Say, there used to be a girl around here named Crystal, what happened to her?
If this is what ends up being their punishment, it is a slap in the face to all the institutions/programs that have over the years been crucified for lessor infractions.:dis:
They got a crystal after the 2004 season. It should be vacated. USC never had a national championship for the 2003 season.
Lose of scholarships is a pretty big deal depending on the number and the duration. I could really care less about vacating wins. Loss of bowl games for one year seems a little low IMO though.
While I agree that it should be vacated, it is still not a NCAA championship. So the NCAA can't rule on it.
