I'm not about to buy into the USC / OU NCG hype. USC has speed bumps all the way through and OU has no cakewalk, no matter what some of us think.

USC still has to play Oregon and AZ State (who both laid serious eggs Saturday), and of course STANFORD :hihi:, so they will be on upset alert a few times this season.

OU has an easy bid? There are four teams in the Big Twelve that can beat them if they don't bring it every week. My guess is that one will, be it during the regular season or in their CCG. If they DO happen to run the schedule like some think they will, then I'll have to say that they really do deserve to be there in the end although an unlikely undefeated SEC team will have a legitimate argument.

You just don't like it when somebody bucks your groupthink, SF. Sorry, I just don't have it in me to be an irrational hater.

I have no love for USC, don't post on their boards ('cause I can't stand fake elitism). I'm just calling it like I see it.

If anyone is drinking kool-aid, it's you.

SF is CORRECT. Pass offered. I was an LSU fan when the same thing happened. Thankfully, it's not happening anymore and won't for a long time.
At least the buckeyes tried their luck against a "real" team. If they had actually took a real inventory, I think the outcome was easy to see. Until they get in a real conference or play alot more games like Saturday's, next season, I can't see this changing very much. Even if playing in the SEC can wear your ass out, it's worth the beating if you come out a winner. You win the SEC, you might as well have won the crystal. FINAL.

Now, LSU fans,,,,,,if we don't get to play USC in the big one, let's start lobbying for them in the regular season. We've been wanting them a long time, it's time to quit waiting and actually do it. Anyone agree?

I can agree with that, but I dunno if it will ever happen.

I also think that everytime I see your avatar I suddenly have a craving for a roast-beef poboy and a coke in a glass bottle...

I know what you mean. Nell roasts those 50 LB beef slabs every Tues. She would always hand me a package of the ends cut off to take home. And Ricky would hand me a dutchie. Man,,,,,,I miss Baton Rouge.

Slightly off topic. here's to hoping everyone is ok with IKE having blown through. FYI, I will not really be around for a little while, as we still don't have power. I went to my friends house to take a shower and send out a few emails. It appears as though my building was damaged to the point that I have to move. I figured this isn't the right thread, but wanted to explain my absence where it would be noticed.

to all in the path, I hope everyone is ok. I was in new orleans last year, and it blew my mind then the kind of destruction that had to happen to cause that. We only had 75 mph winds, without the rain and the entire city of columbus is going haywire. My thoughts and prayers with all who have been dealing with the string of bad weather, and I hope everyone is ok.

    Go Bucks!
