I agree with Loco, the SEC will beat each other up. UGA or FL go to the SEC Champ with 2 losses, LSU goes to West with with 1 or 2 losses and the winner will not get a chance at the BCS title b/c of 2 losses.

I think it will be near impossible for the SEC champ to have one loss.

I think it will be again USC and OU with USC winning and being the 2nd team to win 2 BCS titles, therefore making the dream matchup of LSU and USC for 2009. Hehehe! I don't think we could handle USC this year if the QB play isn't better.

I respectfully disagree about "it will be nearly impossible for the SEC champ to have one loss". Georgia, LSU, and FLA could all get through their respective schedules with one loss, then two of these teams play for the SEC champ. game, with obviously one of them emerging still with just one loss and going to the NC game.

Also, following an SEC schedule, LSU could certainly match up well against USC THIS year (if they could do the above). Yes, USC has the advantage at QB, but we are definitely stronger at RB! McKnight is a slasher; but I would take CScott, and our stable of RBs over any of theirs. The teams would match up well on defense, and I think LSU is overall stronger there. I think the lines are pretty close, too. They would definitely have the advantage in the kicking game. In a one time game for all of the marbles, I like LSU chances, if it came down to that, or any SEC team for that matter. USC is certainly to get overhyped, and overconfident, following the tOSU blowout in which tOSU was clearly an overranked team.

what's worse is Granny will be taking full credit for the regurgitation (oops! resurgency) after that passionate spittle filled (and occasionally slurred) speech he gave them.

All true, but if USC and OU run the table, they are in despite the fact that both have relatively challenge-free schedules. And I'm including yesterday's games.

Yeah, you are probably right. I look for LSU or GA to be in the mix, though, if either USC or OU slip up. Funnier things have happened - to which the whole season last year can attest. USC or OU are sure to slip up late in the year once they beat up on some teams and get the "greatest team ever" label again. OU is more likely to succumb, I think.

That game last night went exactly as I figured it would. When is everyone going to get off of Tressel's jock? They need a new OC and DC? What about their head coach getting into the 21st century? Last week, our Buckeye friend thought me mean-spirited when I mentioned that OSU plays like their coach's personality (without passion and fire.) Who agrees with me that this is part of their problem?

As for the BCSNCG. USC and OU are primed to be atop the polls at the end of the year; however, if there is an undefeated (not one loss) SEC team, that team will probably get the nod over OU. The voters will look at SOS--and the SEC's (hopefully) will be better.

That bears out especially if it's UGA (preseason favorite), Florida (Tebow time) or LSU (defending champs) in that position. That being said, our QB struggles seriously concern me, and UGA looked thoroughly average yesterday.

Watching the Pac-1 and the Small 10 makes you realize how much more dominant the SEC is as a conference this year than anybody else. It's not even close this year.

The media will keep OSU ranked and attempt to hype the other Pac-1 teams to make USC's schedule look legit.

The left half of the country has one team...USC.

Everything else is on the right half of the U.S.

Tough to can a HC who, since 2002, has won one NC, has played in two others, and has his team consistently ranked high. I understand they are overhyped, play in a pathetic conference with a cupcake schedule, and so on, but nonetheless, the above has taken place. They also are consistent in recruiting. I would change out OC and DC, if I were them. On the other hand, I am me, I bleed purple and gold, and am relishing in their spiral.:milesmic:

Let's be realistic here and give USC credit. They've done what they've been tasked to do thus far, beat-down inferior 1A teams. They don't have any question marks on their team, as is the case with EVERY front-running SEC team. Given the positions and development of the two teams right now, I wouldn't like LSU's chances at all.

Our 'stable' of RB's right now consists of Murphy and Scott, because apparently no one has bothered to tell Kieland that the season started. USC appears to be well-ahead of the other top 1A schools right now in terms of development. Now, that's not to say that the other teams couldn't close the gap as the season progresses, but they've undeniably got it together better than anyone else at the moment. My hope is that they do what we did last year, which was peak to early in the season. But as much as I hate to say it, they are very well-coached.

OSU entered the game #5 in both polls. There is no way they will "drop to #3." My guess is Ohio State will be ranked somewhere between #12 and #20.
