I'm no CUM fan, but this is ridiculous. He should have just beat his own wife if he loses his job b/c of an assistant's actions. I'm not sincerely condoning it, but at some point a HC is not responsible for what others are doing. Could he have done more to help the situation? Idk b/c I don't know all of the details of this domestic issue. Should he have cut bait? Maybe, but you don't fire CUM for not firing this guy. Should CUM be reprimanded? Sure, I'm on board for some disciplinary action, but not outright firing. That's ridiculous.
The questions are what did he know & when did he know it. I think the answers will result in him being released.
If he is fired it won't be because of the actions of someone else. He will be fired because he knew about the abuse in 2015 and chose to do nothing about it. In addition, he compounded the problem by flat out lying about knowing anything a week ago at B1G Ten media days.
If his wife stands by her man she will tell the investigators that she never told Urban because she didn't want to make her friend's life any worse than it was. That might even be true. Then Meyer will be back on the sidelines for game 1.
Yeah, I'm now understanding better that this actually took place in 2015. It's tough to comment on domestic issues publicly. The coach in question was fired by the University. Could CUM have handled it better and been more forthright? I'm sure, but do you fire your HC for this? I think it is overboard. I'm with BB, his wife will say she didn't share those details, and he'll be on the sideline.
She was an employee of the University and she did not reveal what was going on. Is this a violation of Title 9 I wonder. This story doesn't involve a student but it does involve an employee.
