News Urban Meyer in a whole heap of trouble

It's not sexual assault. Others have pointed out on this thread that nothing violates Title IX because Courtney Smith was not a student at THE OSU. I agree.

Meyer ran a renegade program at Florida. He admitted as much to the board of regents when he was hired by the Buckeyes. His excuse to them was that he had to do it because he was in the SEC and also had to compete with Florida State and Miami. He has run a much cleaner program at OSU with a high graduation rate. Is that enough to buy back his soul? Apparently not.

He is a scumbag but on principle I don't think he should lose his job over it. As egregious as wife beating is it pales in comparison with Joe Paterno remaining silent and continuing to employ a child molester.

 

It’s an integrity thing. If he lied about this what else is he lying about. Throw in his track record and yeah it looks like a culture of winning is more important than being a decent human being.

 

Good points. Especially about Paterno. It will be interesting to see what Ohio State does.

 

Yea the more I read about it, the more it looks like firing Urban could be very expensive if Urban fights it.

I’m thinking Urban in a Street fight, I mean his name is Urban after all, and he is dirty. He’ll have Johnny come sweep the leg out of nowhere while Saban is yelling at a bystander.
