It's not about competiton it's where he fits into the spread offense Orgeron said he wants to run. And according to Shea Dixon he didn't decommit he has just decided to take calls and visits to other places.
That could very well be the case. Either way, changing coaches was bound to shake up commits and possible commits. Hopefully Coach O can find a future star QB.
Like I said, most, but not all, of these kids connect with a staff member, position coach and that can come before their commitment to the school is solid. Essentially, they are looking at that person as the one who wanted them, spent time with them, convinced their family, etc. For Brennan, that was likely Cameron. And then, as you say, he could be hearing a changing of philosophy, an potentially impending OC coming in with their own recruit, and maybe LSU has quit responding. It does happen and the recruit gets the message. I don't blame him for leaving either. I rarely buy in to the "they are afraid to compete" nonsense.
Last night while traveling home from work, Coach O was on the radio with Bobby Hebert and Deke Bellevia. O said he wants to be a spread team, but still run power football.
That's what I'm afraid happened but I'd rather keep that talent and build around his skills. I think youll regret letting this talent out of your grasp in the end.
He must really want Kiffin then or thinks he is coming because that is essentially what Bama was last year. And if I were O I would point to Jake Coker when speaking to Brennan.
Great point, a good coach will always tailor their scheme to fit the stength of the personnel. Last year, Bama had a QB that was seasoned. A better passer than Hurts, but taking that into consideration, Kiffin now calls more options to play to the strength of Hurts.
It's what Herman and Meyer run also. The Power Option Offense. Embrace the power run game with the RPO at your fingertips. That's the offense I feel is best suited for LSU and you need a QB with smarts over athleticism. I like Brennan and I'm disappointed in him re-opening his recruiting. He also removed ALL his purple and gold LSU stuff off his tweeter page. He dumped us......via Twitter
That makes me nervous. Two completely different offensive philosophies. You try to be both, you'll likely be neither.
Essentially, Bama is a power, spread attack. I don't at all see an issue, if it's properly called and coached.
