She might, I haven't been here in awhile. Thought she said she moved, maybe not. I get confused a lot. Pay no attention to me and my ramblings.
I quit drinking!?!? When did I do that! Damn...I most of forgot. *places his glass of Bota Box Malbec down*
I wondered if there were really 6 pages devoted to disco but at least some of it (non-disco) was humorous. I like a few disco songs and the scene seemed cool for a short time (but was before my time). Someone once told me that the Nola music scene during that era (including The Meters, Dr. John, Prof Longhair) would have been much bigger nationally if the disco craze never happened. Not sure if true, but have always considered that little comment as a strike against disco.
That is why I despise disco. Like any pop music sub-genre, there are some strong tunes and some wretched tunes. The problem ain't disco music, it was the disco lifestyle. It killed live music in the 1970's. Before disco you could hear live music in any nightclub and bar in town. Then almost overnight the bands got replaced by a DJ, a stack of very repetitive records, and a mirror ball.
I don't know if the disco craze had anything to do with that but those guys should have been bigger nationally just because of how good they are. The Radiators too. More likely has something to do with the lack of good promotion.
