It's not even the bad calls that pissed me off. It's just that every questionable call that helped LSU was being reviewed, but nothing of the sort for Bama. Home field advantage at it's finest.
I was screaming at the TV set on that one. That 'Bama lineman literally grabbed and locked up Williams' arm as he went by him.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I had no problem with them reviewing the plays. If LSU was in that situation, we'd be screaming for a review. At least they got it right. As for that hold that wasn't called in the end zone that could have been a safety, remember that when Bama fans try to say that LSU never got called for holding.
Exactly...LSU was pinned back deep into their own endzone one time and a similar situation happened. Russell rolled out, barely into the endzone, and probably would have been sacked (maybe for a safety) but the OLman had Gilberry by the shoulderpads and almost turned him all the way around, causing him to fall. You guys got off the pass for about 30 yards. About everyone in the stands was yelling and I had a LSU fan that was sitting in front of me turn around, smile and say "it's not holding unless you get caught". Now, I haven't said anything about the officials or made that an excuse for why we lost. I haven't said anything until now because of all these posts. I would hate to see ho you people would be acting had we won.:dis:
thank you i saw that too. Wroten was tackled from behind and the ref was about to pull his hanky but realized it would have hurt Bama
I'm not complaining that they reviewed the catches, just do it when Bama makes a questionable play too.
That hold probably should have been called, but LSU got the benefit of several no calls earlier in the game. If they would have called that hold in THAT situation, they would have had a huge backlash and justifiably so. I'm glad it was a no call because I'd hate to win that game on a call like that. They let the players decide it on the field, which is better than we can say for many SEC games over the years.
If you're going to review the catches that Davis made, then you should also rule the one he made that was ruled an incompletion. And that big gain by Bama in the 1st quarter should've been reviewed too. Not saying that either would've been overturned, but they should've been reviewed.
