K... let's see. We have a guy who has been in about 20 plays his entire career, all of it in mop up duty against cupcakes, and it would be a good thing if he came in in literally the biggest game of the year against one of the two or three top defenses in the country, who have some of the best DBs in the country, who play one of the most sophisticated defensive schemes in the country.... help me understand this.
It will be bad news for LSU if we have to play an untested sophomore in the national championship game.
No , I'm not saying that. Someone said lee may not be eligible for the championship game and mett would have to play if jj got hurt. I said that all is not lost if that unfortunate thing happened.
Jj is our best bet. The thing that would be to metts advantage is that bama wouldve gameplanned for a diffrent type of offense. All wouldn't be lost if we were forced to play mett. He shouldn't play unless both our seniors are out.
I think mett is definately third on the list of qb's that should start. I was commenting on the statement that lee could not be able to play because of classwork problems. Someone said mett would have to play if jj got hurt. We run jj alot. That is dangerous. If jj got hurt , mett would play. Bama will gameplan for jj running the option. Mett would be a change of pace for sure. I still think that we can win the game with mett. It will be much harder for sure. Bama would definately be favored. The only thing that would be to our advantage is that they wouldn't have much film of mett and not really know just how we would use him.
Mett went to one of the nation's elite JC's after the debacle at UGA and led them to the NC game. They didn't have a PK and never converted an extra point and lost by 1 to a team they had handled easily during the regular season. He's more battle-tested than most think. Like JJ and JL, he's been coached up considerably since Kragthrope arrived. I don't think there would necessarily be a drop-off if he had to come in. He reads defenses well and throws crisp, accurate passes, usually to a point where only the receivers have a chance to catch them. He looks comfortable as he steps up in the pocket; I've never seen him look panicked when the pressure comes. You'd feel a lot better if you could have seen some of the Butler games.
If this is the case, I take back all I said about CLM and favoring JJ. [hands eggs to everyone to throw]
With Lee leading the team to huge early season victories, he surely was the "big man on campus". Could that have led to his academic failures? It certainly wouldn't be the first time that a little fame led to someone's demise.
