If he doesn't he will be heavily criticized from all sides. He may not have to fire them, but he needs to replace them with a single DC. Personally, I feel at least Peveto should be fired.

How can you distinguish between Peveto and Mallory though? How do you choose which one deserves to get the can? If there's something I don't know then I apologize but I was never really clear on what their individual responsibilities were, and what the breakdowns were a cause of.

If Miles does decide a change is in order I'd fully expect just a re-organization of the staff with Peveto and Mallory being asked to return to their positional work.

But I don't think you can fire one and not the other, that's just not fair.

Ellis Johnson (made around $175K per year at MSU) coached LBs and was the DC at Alabama for Gene Stallings and Mike DuBose. He was also the DC at So. Miss under Curley Hallman. At Alabama his defenses were pretty solid, I can't comment on his defenses at other places. You could do worse.

I've been impressed with State's D the last few years, considering their talent level and the horrific offense they've been saddled with.

They've always come to play on that side of the ball.

Well Monte Kiffin is leaving the Tampa Bucs to join his kid at UT... looks like Chavis is available NOW... we need to go after him.

Lost to Florida 59-20 in 2007, Florida's "down year." Gators rolled up 556 yards with a sophomore at QB.

    A very soft defense...

Please no, god no not this guy. I've watched Tenn for many years now and trust me, while he is a decent DC and definitely a upgrade, we can do far better. His scheme is way too soft and it gets him in trouble a lot. Not to mention before this year, his defenses have sucked in recent years. His scheme is as old as him. I don't want the bend but don't break philosophy back at LSU, ever.

#4 in total defense and #12 in scoring defense sucks?

DING! He plays that soft zone mostly and has ALWAYS been criticized for his 3rd and long ineptitude. Its not an attacking defense and most tenn fans will tell you he drove them crazy.
