Re: DC Watch: John Chavis No matter who it is, Miles is most likely trying to scheme a soft landing for Mallory and Peveto. Mallory has been with Miles a long time and he is a Michigan guy. Miles probably has a strong relationship with him and I can see him being retained even if demoted.
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis Definitely a delicate balancing act that Les Miles is having to get through. I don't envy him. I hope they get Chavis as a silent commit and then announce on Jan 2nd, if they are indeed gonna hold back the announcement.
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis i think chavis goes to clemson and we get someoone we arent too excited about. i hope its not greg robinson but once we see who it is, I may change my mind.
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis he is between a 4 and 5 star recruit doubt he greyshirts he might even ask for 2 scholarships
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis :geaux: I'm thinking if Chavis was going to Clemson that it's been announced already since they don't have a DC. No reason to keep it under wraps there. I'm HOPING that Chavis is the silent commit/greyshirt as mentioned previously!:hihi: If not, our only hope is the surprise hire of the hotshot who's still coaching a bowl team somewhere. :LSU231:
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis True. There simply is not enough time for a new DC to learn his new players. And for that matter, for the players to learn any new schemes. Its looking like no new DC will be announced B4 the bowl game.
Re: DC Watch: John Chavis I think someone mentioned it before, but isn't it possible that the deal is done and under wraps to allow CLM's staff to all collect their bonuses for coaching in a bowl game? That sounds like the sort of thing CLM would do for his guys, even if they are on the way out. And as stated above, the new DC would have little or no effect on the outcome of our bowl game. FWIW, I think it's Chavis, and will be announced shortly after the CFA bowl. I'm just not good at waiting - and apparently I'm not alone in that! :geaux:
