Good point. Saban had embarrassments at LSU, too. (e.g. AU/Bama in '02, UGA in '05).

They say this guy runs an insane defense. Really Helter-Skelter schemes that just kill opponents. He's available for employment, I think, but we gotta keep his identification on the down low.

I think he'll be in southern Cal for a while. He doesn't get out much. Most of the HCs handcuff him and he's not that effective. But nice that you bring him up. I'm sure he apprecitates it.

AVAILABLE JANUARY 20 2009. Am I reading too much into his statement or does he want to lead the LSU defense in 2009.

Chavis' defenses have been shown to be very aggressive when the personnel has been there to employ such a scheme (cover corners and edge rushers).

Basically, when he has the people in place, he has blitzed, brought the safety up in the box to support the run, etc.

He will do that here with cover corners Peterson, BTaylor, JJackson in the coming years.

He's only gone to the 2 deep "soft" zone due to lack of talent at the CB position.

And I cannot reiterate enough the fact that we will have our first legit LB coach in a long time. I just hope he can help recruit JJones and Telfort before it's too late.

I hope you're right. I'm just glad it sound like they're getting rid of dumb and dumber, or are they being demoted?

So, what do you think? Is this thing gonna happen or what? I think no word today may mean fewer changes than we were lead to believe. But I don't know...

I was thinking the same thing.

Maybe letting things blow over to give Mallory another year?
