You just proved why your opinions earn double red dots here. You not only missed the point, you see it backwards.

Do they get no credit for going 10-1? Is there a team in football history that executes without mistakes?

You're right. This year, we destroyed Vandy and our cupcake teams, whereas last year, we struggled with Vandy and the likes of Troy State and Ole Miss. Plus, we actually lost a close game to Auburn last year. Yep, this team is playing very differently from last year...

The 2004 team had these very same problems.

The way things are going with this thread, we may still be posting on it half way through next season.

Gonna break a record for most replies.

If this team really was underachieving and undercoached, it wouldn't have made the 2nd page.

Last season was a disappointment. It was still relatively successful, especially considering the dark days of the not so distant past. This season isn't really a disappointment, but it isn't up to snuff with Saban's succesful seasons. There were many obstacles to overcome this year, which gives me patience in judging the execution of the team. In the end, however, the execution of this team offensively is sub-par. Whatever the reason, the offense is sub-par. Anyone who can argue that our offense has been acceptable, please step forward. I don't expect LSU to be flawless. Even the NC team was imperfect. I do expect our offense to be passable at least every other year, as was the case in Saban's tenure. I don't think we all disagree as much as it may seem. We are just on different ends of the spectrum. I strive for improvement while others like to find the good in what exists in the present.

To all you folks who believe a win is a win, and who are singing praises of 10 win seasons, shouldn't you have learned to temper you pessimism in the age of Archer? A 10 win season is nice, but it doesn't necessarily indicate a successful program.

I am not trying to be negative here; there are plenty of positives on our team. I am trying to call things as I see them, and I am trying to see things realistically. Our defense is doing well, our punter is awesome, and our return game is solid. Our offense is sub-par. The passing game is a weak threat and our running game is weakened by injury.

Perhaps some expextations of what we wanted to see from our football team haven't been meet. But Underachieving, NO WAY. Let's see how we are next year after going on the road to Fla, Auburn, ARK and Tenn. Then we may have a leg to stand on by saying this team is underachieving...

Even if we were undefeated, we still wouldn't be going to the Rose Bowl. We need to quit play against 1-aa teams and the North Texas's (no disrespect) and play some NCG's that will help in the polls.
    LSU vs. Cal
    Lsu vs. Tex Tech
    LSU vs. NC State
Even though we somehow won vs. Oregon State last year, I would rather have a game like that that a 50-0 win against someone who is not to our caliber....
