Yeah, whose 40K + Escalade was he driving? Hmmmm, bet the NCAA finds more issues when all this finds the light of day.
First, a few things need to be cleared. 1) He was not drinking at all. None. No DUI, nothing. 2) From a very good source on Dawgvent (though nothing offically confirmed but the source has done things correctly in the past) says the Escalade truely was a family car, not a loan from a dealership as another site said. 3) The car was a loan for the night. Not for a week, month, year, ext...but for the night alone. Not his car 4) Illegal lane change? Too loud music? Come on...but the open container was beer cans that had ALREADY SPILLED on the back of the car so it spelled like crap. Ok...
SouthLink, thanks for clearing all that up. I also saw on the Georgia boards that this young man is an honor roll student (nuclear science major), had just dropped off some used clothing at the Salvation Army and was on his way to the library to study when apprehended.
...and I heard that the beer cans were open because he picked up some homeless men and gave them the beer because they didn't have anything to drink.
Seriously, SouthLink -- How many college kids you know got $50,000 "loaner" cars while they were in college? FOR ONE NIGHT OR 365 NIGHTS? And, how many "family relatives" of yours would have "loaned" you their "loaner" of a $50,000 car when you were in college? Let's look at this - O.K. let's assume that one of us got a $50,000 "one night loaner" car. Now, how many of us would then "loan" that "one night loaner" (THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR) to ANY college kid (whether he's your kid or your nephew or cousin)? And, would you then leave unopend beer cans in that $50,000 "one night loaner" KNOWING that you are loaning it to a COLLEGE KID? Do you REALLY buy that SouthLink? Take off your Black and Red glasses and ask yourself - DOES THIS EXPLANATION MAKE ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER? More likely, there was a "wink, wink" deal with a local supporter/car dealer where he "loaned" the car to the player's parents (again, "wink, wink") for ONE NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT. THAT makes A LOT more sense.
