I don't think the fall of the American Empire is imminent. We are still the leader of the free world and I don't think it's ever been unquestioned. There are a lot of pissant countries that would like to dethrone us but they don't have what it takes, whether it be power, money, might or will of the people. Screw being the benevolent leader. The message should be "you're either with us or you're agin us". The other message is "F*ck with us and you pay the price".

i honestly believe sabanfan's atttude is slightly attributable to his frequent trips to NYC and his regular firsthand witnessing of the evidence of the enemy's work.

Probably. There is no doubt that he is pounding his shoe upon the table. Whether it is the right table is open to question.

Don't forget that a major thing that got Bin Laden riled up was the fact that we had troops stationed in Saudi Arabia while trying to save the ass of a Muslim country.

The "maybe if we are nice to them they won't hate us" argument is weak, and shows no understanding of our enemies at all. Look what happened to Spain.

They don't hate us because of our policies. They hate the fact that we don't bow down to Allah.

No one is making the argument that we should be nice to terrorist or state sponsors of terror. The argument comes down to are we effectively mitigating the threat of radical Islam. I don't think we are. If anything our war on terror has given the militant Muslims a platform to further to promote their agenda. Killing terrorists is always good. Policy that spreads their brand of Islam is not.

Exactly. I thought that I made it clear that I do not support appeasement. However, recklessly throwing your weight around sets a bad precedent. As I mentioned, we have a tremendous amount of responsibility on our shoulders by being the worlds biggest superpower. And we're going to have one hell of a time garnering support if we must ever take preemptive action against another country.
If you really believe that, you might as well just keep your head in the sand.

Then, just what the hell should we do? Ignore the MFers? You think they'll slink quietly away? How long do you think this hatred has been simmering? When Bin Laden was a snot nosed punk, there were radical Muslims plotting our demise. They are born and raised into a mindset of kill the infidels. That's you and me stud. That turn the other cheek crap won't work on this vermin. We need to find them and kill them where they live. Period. Nobody said a peep when "...and those who harbor them" was first uttered. Now all of the pansy assed liberals want to act like the troublemakers are a select few and all we're doing is aggravating them into hating us more. Well, Newsflash! They cannot hate us any more than they already do. The more of them that die, the better off the world will be. If a few million "non-radical" sympathizers have to bite the dust, tough sh!t. Little muslims grow up to be big muslims. The less of them there are, the better.

Probably. I'm at the Jersey City Hyatt right now. Everytime I ride the PATH into the WTC, I get pissed again. I'll ride through the Holland tunnel tomorrow morning and hold my breath the entire time, then I'll show my ID to a raghead monitoring the security line and sit on an airplane half filled with those SOBs.

I'm pounding both hands upon the table and screaming at the top of my lungs, but nobody's listening.

we can beat anyone all by ourselves.

if a cause is right, the rest of the world should join us, independent of whether they like us or not. and if they don't, we clearly need to work without their help, as we have proven we will. we are not trying to make friends with everyone, we would rather be feared.

you have to keep in mind, that besides the UK and a couple other countries, the whole world is a ****hole, run by cranks and morons and socialists. what they think isnt all that relevant. we should probably be more worried if everyone agrees with everything we do. **** em.

true. radical muslims have been killing infidels for a long, long, long time. it is time to get proactive.

i used to ride that daily, i was about to ride it sept 11 before it shut down. now i always watch the faces of tourists as we come into the empty crater there. at least now there appears to be serious work happening there. i am disappointed that i dont live right there next to the hyatt anymore where i could watch the new buildings grow every day.
