wmd is the reason the media gave for invading, not the reason bush gave.

The UK is the staunchest, by far, but Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, South Korea, Japan, France, and about two dozen other countries have all fought with us in wars since World War II.

Spain, Turkey, Germany, and Britain allowed US strategic nuclear bases on their territory in the Cold War.

United States military forces are located in nearly 130 countries around the world performing a variety of duties from combat operations, to peacekeeping, to training with foreign militaries. We even have arrangements for overflights and other cooperative endeavors with many of the other 34 countries in the world.

Our global power is vast and our combat effectiveness is greatly multiplied by our allies when they are with us. Europe combined has more tanks and combat aircraft than the United States. But it works two ways, the mission must be in everybody's interest. When our allies are not with us, we are greatly weakened.

Ah, its liberal media bias that is to blame for the war. I didn't know they were the decider.

All of the examples are the result of other countries having their own agenda. They are not our bosom buddies and could not care less about maintaining any kind of "friendship" with the Americans. The hate us and always have. Do you think the phrases "Ugly American" and "Yankee Go Home" are new?

I don't think you could pull any of those up. I am not one of those who criticize Clinton (except as mentioned above) because it would be a tad hypocritical.

Everybody doesn't hate us, that is quite paranoid. And it doesn't matter if they don't love us as long as they respect us. We once were the unquestioned leader of the Free World.

We are the only superpower left now and all the world fears what we are capable of doing and pray that we behave responsibly. If we do, they will follow. If we simply go where we want and do what we want, whenever we want, no matter how it affects others . . . then they will join together against us. Just look at Persia, Macedon, Rome, Napoleon, etc.

We need to be more of a world leader and less of a mad emperor bent on having his way.

no bush is to blame for the war, the media is to blame for portraying it as a one-issue wmd war, which it never was.

among those who would target us, the die is cast. i thought you meant our image in europe or wherever.

our image is of zero concern, at least in the sense that you mean. the only image that matters is that we are sure people are too scared to mess with us. we want to be seen as a bully, so that syria and iran and other places like that know we are not fooling around. saddam wouldnt have been so flippant with UN regulations if he had known we would seriously come to his country and hang his ass. now leaders know that. that is important.

this "america has lost respect around he world" stuff is not only not true, it is not relevant. it is a thing people say but it means nothing.

That doesn't make any sense, please explain?
We were less of a target during the Clinton years and were attacked more at
that time than when he left office.
Matter of fact we went on missions in Kosovo and Somolia to do the moral
thing, common good and we were targeted because of it in Somolia.

It seems to me that we did plenty to be on Muslims good side during the 90's
    and they hated us anyway!
